Camberwell Beauty
Nymphalis antiopa
Occassional sightings of the Camberwell Beauty occur in the region from time to time. Some are genuine migrants from mainland Europe although most are thought to be the result of accidental releases by breeders.
Larval Food plants
Willows (Salix spp), Elms (Ulmus spp), and Poplars (Populus spp).
Habitat Requirements
Generally found in woodland habitats on mainland Europe but it is also known to breed in a range of other habitats where conditions allow.

Introductions
During the 1960's 'several hundreds' of Camberwell Beauty were released at Brandon Marsh, Coventry as part of a publicity stunt for paper merchants Samuel Jones.

1976: Warwick (August), Birmingham (August), Foleshill Road (September) and three individuals were seen at Nether Whitacre (September)
1977: Nuneaton (May)
1992: Bearley (August)
1995: Hall Green, Lighthorne Heath, Sutton Coldfield (x3), Bubbenhall, Coventry, Ullenhall, Rugby, Oxhouse Farm and Kenilworth (all seen during August)
