Angle Shades
Phlogophora meticulosa
The Angle Shades is a distinctive moth which closely resembles a withered leaf when at rest.
Wingspan 45-50mm
The adult Angle Shades moth flies between May and October with at least two generations. It si also a common migrant from mainland Europe sometimes occuring in large numbers along the coast.
Larval Food plants
The larvae feed on a wide variety of herbaceous plants and are often seen in suburban gardens.
Habitat Requirements
A wide variety of habitats. Most people encounter Angle Shades in their gardens.
