Ryton Wood Meadows - Moths
Our reserve supports over 600 species of moth including rare species and several species of day-flying moth.

A dedicated team of volunteer moth recorders hold regular moth trapping sessions on our reserve. Late starts and very early finishes mean that during the summer months, our mothers are on our reserve from 7pm until 8am the following morning!
Some of these sessions are open for the general public to attend (see our events for details).
A report listing all the species recorded is produced for each moth trapping session.
