3. How many MALE Orange-tip butterflies did you see?
Its rare for anyone to see lots of male Orange-tips in one location. Most people may see only one or two Orange-tip butterflies a day. In a good spot where butterflies are feeding on flowers you may be lucky and see more. Warm sunny days are best to see Orange-tip butterflies. The males fly along hedgerows and within gardens looking for females which are usually hidden in the undergrowth. When the sun goes in, they hide among leaves and can be difficult to find. Only the Male Orange-tip has orange tips to the wings.
