Butterfly Walks
Various field trips take place throughout the year including organised butterfly walks to important sites in our region and beyond. Our trips provide members and the general public with a chance to meet experts and learn about different species and their habitats. They're also ideal for making new friends and can provide various levels of exercise.
Moth Nights
Late night starts and early morning finishes are a key feature of the moth trapping team's activities, especially in the summer.
Attend one of our organised moth nights and find out more about our moths from local experts.
Impromptu moth trapping sessions are also held throughout the winter months weather permitting. Contact Nigel Stone (Micro Moth Recorder) on 024 7633 5189 for further information.
Conservation and Site Management Work Parties
Why not volunteer some of your time to help us with habitat management. Regular work parties take place throughout the year.
Help look after our Ryton Meadow Butterfly Reserve. Meet 10am at reserve car park (SP385 727) off A423, Oxford Road, Ryton on Dunsmore. Contact Mike Slater.
Warwickshire Branch Meetings and AGM
Butterfly Conservatuion members are welcome to attend our annual AGM and other events including our Spring Meeting featuring an overview of the year's activities, quizzes, raffles and refreshments. The Warwickshire Branch Committee also holds regular meetings throughout the year.
Field Trip Health & Safety
Common sense is key to an enjoyable time. Wear strong walking boots to protect your feet, bring waterproof clothing, and make sure you drink plenty of water. Sunblock is advisable when attending a butterfly walk, warm clothing is required on moth nights.
If you have any medical conditions, please make sure that the event leader is aware of this.
If you intend to leave the group at any time before the event ends, please ensure you let the event leader know, especially during moth nights and butterfly walks.
Children under 16 are welcome to attend all of our events but they should be attended by a responsible adult.
If you intend to leave an event early, please ensure the leader knows.
