Wyre Forest Butterfly Walk

A record breaking 24 butterfly enthusiasts enjoyed/suffered the extreme heat and humidity of the Wyre Forest in search of the Pearl-bordered Fritillary. Over 20 individual Pearl-bordered Fritillaries were seen in three main sites in the forest including along the pipeline and in the Dowles Brook meadows. 12 species of butterfly were seen in total including Dingy and Grizzled Skipper. Several interesting moths were also seen including Flame Carpet, Speckled Yellow and Common Heath.
